I was the lead designer working on the redesign of CareFirst of Maryland, a Blue Cross Blue Shield affiliate. This was a complete overhaul of their site while also using it as a jumping off point to push their brand a bit further. We where tasked with rethinking and reposition their website from something that was a glorified repository for all things CareFirst into something that was streamlined, easy to navigate, and function more as a sales tool for new and existing customers.
The site is split up into four portals based on the industry you are in; Individuals, Employers, Providers and Brokers. Then within each of those portals there is a pre and post login site. So there are essentially eight sites that all need to be integrated, coherent and have a seamless transition between them all. This was no small task.
